What is HEPA?

It's a type of air filter. HEPA is an acronym High Efficient Particulate Air filter as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy. A HEPA filter can remove at least 99.97% of airborne particles that are as small as 0.3 micrometers in diameter. That's 1,000 times smaller than a dust mite. No dust mite is getting through a HEPA filter!
